Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married on July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, ending three years of courtship that had played out under near-constant public attention. A law enforcement official confirmed the event to the Associated Press before it took place. Swift’s representatives issued a statement confirming the nuptials after the ceremony concluded.

Swift, 36, and Kelce, 36, first appeared publicly together in September 2023 when Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game. Kelce proposed on August 10, 2025, at his home in Leawood, Kansas. Their engagement was announced during a recording session for Swift’s twelfth studio album.

Adam Sandler Officiated, Paul McCartney Performed

The ceremony was officiated by comedian and actor Adam Sandler, a longtime friend of both Swift and Kelce. The 20-minute vows drew tears and laughter from guests throughout.

Paul McCartney was among the performers at the reception. AMC CEO Adam Aron, one of the approximately 1,000 guests, described Kelce as wearing a white tuxedo and Swift as appearing in a white wedding dress with a long veiled train. Guests received custom handkerchiefs monogrammed with a double-T and a line from Swift’s song Blank Space stitched in cursive.

Kelce’s entire Eras Tour band, backing vocalists, and dancers were invited as guests. The couple’s closest friends and family made up much of the remaining list. No press was admitted to the venue. Photographs were tightly controlled, though images began circulating on social media within hours of the ceremony ending.

A Venue Choice That Said Something

The decision to hold the wedding at Madison Square Garden carried its own particular symbolism. The arena where Swift has performed for hundreds of thousands of fans was converted into an intimate but unmistakably large venue for a 1,000-person private celebration. Security personnel were seen staging throughout the surrounding Manhattan blocks for days before the event.

Swift and Kelce had originally been linked to a Rhode Island venue - Ocean House near her Watch Hill mansion - before pivoting to New York. The MSG choice aligned with Kelce’s earlier statement on his New Heights podcast that he expected to marry in summer 2026, before football season began.

Swift and Kelce’s relationship had already become one of the most-covered celebrity pairings in years, producing news cycles that intersected pop music, the NFL, and American celebrity culture simultaneously. The wedding completes that arc but also opens a new one.
