Two New Arrests in Producer Killing

Two more suspects were arrested in the killing of an Atlanta music producer allegedly lured to a pickup for a recording session. Police announced the October 9 arrests in the death of Tarris Caswell, 33, who was shot in August.

Investigators said Caswell and a friend expected to collect two people for a rap studio or video session. Police allege that arrangement was a pretext for a robbery.

Producer Found Inside Vehicle

Officers responded to the Villages of Castleberry Hill apartments early August 21 and found Caswell shot inside a vehicle. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police later released images of people they wanted to identify. On September 24, the department announced the arrest of a 16-year-old suspect. His name was withheld because of his age.

Three Suspects Face Charges

The October arrests involved a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old. The FBI Atlanta Violent Crime Task Force assisted city police in taking the two into custody.

All three suspects face charges of murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The allegations have not been proved at trial.
