Taylor Nation, Swift's official fan community platform, announced a
limited-edition 7-inch vinyl single for Record Store Day 2026, set for
April 18 at participating independent retailers. The release spotlights
"Elizabeth Taylor," one of the standout tracks from *The Life of a
Showgirl*, pressed on 'Cry My Violet Gl' cosmic purple-and-blue
glitter vinyl, according to Billboard.

The pressing pairs the album version with an exclusive B-side — "So
Glamorous Cabaret Version" — a theatrical reimagining of the original
that leans into the old-Hollywood aesthetic defining the album's
creative direction. Taylor Nation announced the drop with a single line
that immediately spread across fan communities: "Put it in the papers,
on the screen, and in their minds."

A Commercially Dominant Era

The release arrives on the strength of one of Swift's most dominant
commercial stretches. The Life of a Showgirl made her the first artist
to top the IFPI Global Album Chart in back-to-back consecutive years,
following The Tortured Poets Department in 2024, according to
Billboard. She joins Adele as one of the only artists to have led the
chart twice.

Swift has maintained a consistent commitment to the vinyl format across
her catalog. The Life of a Showgirl led global rankings in both pure
album sales and vinyl performance in 2025. Routing an exclusive track
through independent retail — rather than a streaming-first rollout —
reflects a deliberate alignment with the Record Store Day mission, which
exists specifically to benefit independent music shops.

The "So Glamorous Cabaret Version" is not a repackaging of an existing
track. It is a new interpretation, available for a single day, at a
single category of retail outlet, with no announced second release
window.

Record Store Day, held annually every April, draws collectors and casual
fans alike to stores participating in the program. For an artist
operating at Swift's commercial scale, the decision to route a new
recording exclusively through independent retail carries clear intent
— and marks a continuation of her long-standing support for the
format.

Fan response to the announcement was immediate and widespread. Artvoice
reported that Swifties described the pressing as "the most beautiful"
RSD release announced for 2026, with online communities quickly
mobilizing to locate participating retailers. Billboard noted the

April 18 marks the only confirmed window to obtain the pressing through
its official channel. Independent retailers are expected to list
